2019 Merryvale Chardonnay Carneros-Napa Valley

Winemaking

The majority of the fruit for this Chardonnay was grown on our Stanly Ranch Estate Vineyard (84%) with some select lots from neighboring Hyde Vineyard (16%) blended in. These Carneros vineyards’ proximity to the San Pablo Bay keeps them at a cool temperature and brings cool climate characteristics to the wine. Classic Burgundian techniques were used in the production of this wine. The grapes were whole cluster pressed to a combination of new and used French oak barrels, along with some stainless steel drums. The wine was fermented using native yeasts, underwent full malolactic fermentation, minimal stirring and sur lie aging for 11 months.

Sourced from our Estate Vineyard blocks on the historic Stanly Ranch as well as the renowned Hyde Vineyard, the 2019 Carneros Chardonnay is the best example of everything we love from the region. Bright acidity, savory salinity, layered complexity and luscious mouthfeel all converge in this bottle.
