2015 Starmont Viognier, Stanly Ranch Estate
The fruit was handpicked and carefully sorted. Traditional methods are used to add richness and complexity— aging sur lies for 6 months, stirred weekly; native yeast fermentations and partial native malolactic fermentation to balance the wine’s acidity. The wine was 100% fermented in stainless steel barrels.
This wine is sourced from the Schlatter family’s estate vineyard on the historic Stanly Ranch in Carneros. The goal of the Starmont Stanly Ranch Estate Viognier is purity of site highlighting structure and finish. The 2015 has delicious notes of honeysuckle and stone fruit in the rich aromas. Good weight and viscosity on the palate, vibrant peach flavors, and good structure with a lingering finish.
