Winemaking

The 2013 Chairman’s selection is a very special wine, coming from some of the best mountain vineyards in Napa Valley. Undergoing a long fermentation using native yeast, up to 30 days, this wine is a classic example of what mountain fruit is to Napa. In order to bring out true varietal characteristics, the wine spends 22 months in 60% new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

Making wine in the Napa Valley since 1983, we have developed strong relationships with many of the best vineyard owning families in the area. From those relationships, we have created this special Bordeaux blend, predominately Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The wine is very dark in color, with great intensity and the classic mountain fruit flavors of blueberry and fresh red fruit,
ending with fine grain tannins and a very long finish.
